En vísperas del Día Internacional de los Pueblos Indígenas, que se celebra el 9 de agosto, echamos un vistazo a algunos datos poco conocidos sobre las comunidades indígenas y el apoyo que les brinda el Programa Mundial de Alimentos (WFP).
El Programa Mundial de Alimentos (WFP, por sus siglas en inglés) está la zona de desastre prestando apoyo a los gobiernos y agencias regionales de socorro así como a los damnificados
El país es un modelo en lo concerniente a la construcción de resiliencia que promueve el Programa Mundial de Alimentos en los Pequeños Estados Insulares en Desarrollo.
Alcanzar sistemas alimentarios sostenibles frente la crisis climática es una necesidad y un desafío al que se encaminan varios de los proyectos actuales en los que WFP brinda su apoyo y asistencia técnica.
Como parte de la agenda “para cambiar vidas”, WFP está combinando la asistencia humanitaria y la cooperación bilateral para el desarrollo con la inversión en actividades basadas en la resiliencia que contribuyan a la construcción de sistemas alimentarios sostenibles.
Comunidades afrodescendientes e indígenas awá se consideran parte integral del ecosistema de los manglares en la frontera. Con apoyo del Fondo de Adaptación y WFP protegen su hogar y medios de vida.
Tres proyectos, liderados por mujeres colombianas y que participaron del Hub Regional de Innovación HZero, suman esfuerzos para combatir el hambre en Colombia.
