En este Día Mundial de la Ingeniería, celebramos el legado de 15 años de ingeniería del Programa Mundial de Alimentos (WFP, por sus siglas en inglés) con tres historias de innovación.
El pueblo indígena lenca en el departamento de Intibucá, Honduras, ha enfrentado tanto los efectos crisis climática –se ubican en el Corredor Seco Centroamericano, un área propensa a prolongadas sequías o lluvias excesivas—así como el impacto de la crisis global.
Según los monitoreos realizados desde enero de 2023 por el Instituto Nacional de Sismología, Vulcanología, Meteorología e Hidrología (INSIVUMEH) y WFP, se pronostica una sequía que afectará el rendimiento de la temporada de cosecha de julio y agosto.
