La Iniciativa de Fortalecimiento del Arroz del Programa Mundial de Alimentos comenzó en 2016 y apoya a siete países de la región a avanzar hacia la fortificación obligatoria del arroz, a través de la asistencia técnica para la participación de las partes interesadas y la formulación de políticas, y ensayos de factibilidad.
Como parte de esta iniciativa, se publicó un suplemento especial sobre la fortificación del arroz para América Latina, disponible en español e inglés, junto con la revista Sight and Life.

The World Food Programme’s Rice Fortification Initiative started in LAC in 2016 and supports seven countries in the region to advance towards the mandatory fortification of rice, through technical assistance for stakeholder engagement and policy making, transfer of technology, behavior change communication, social marketing, monitoring systems, and feasibility trials.
As part of this initiative a Special Supplement on Rice Fortification for Latin America, available in Spanish and English, was published together with the Sight and Life Magazine.
