Chiara Camassa es oficial de administración del Programa Mundial de Alimentos (WFP, por sus siglas en inglés) en Haití. Desde que llegó al país caribeño hace cuatro meses, Chiara ha sido el punto focal del WFP para los asuntos relacionados a la COVID-19, en gran medida por su experiencia con el brote de ébola en África occidental en 2014.
En 2020, la pandemia de la COVID-19 interrumpió gravemente los servicios de las escuelas y la educación en todo el mundo. En consecuencia, millones de niños y niñas no pudieron recibir sus comidas escolares ni beneficiarse de los servicios de salud y nutrición en las escuelas, como la desparasitación, la vacunación y el apoyo psicosocial.
SANTO DOMINGO –El informe El Costo de la Doble Carga de la Malnutrición revela datos sobre el costo social y económico de la desnutrición, sobrepeso y obesidad en la República Dominicana en el 2017.
La guía permite una organización óptima de las distribuciones, tomando en cuenta medidas preventivas para reducir los riesgos de contagio y de seguridad durante la implementación de acciones de asistencia alimentaria, siendo especialmente relevante en contextos epidemiológicos como el actual.

Las legumbres — como los garbanzos, lentejas, arvejas, habas, guisantes y frijoles rojos — son parte esencial de una dieta saludable por tener altos contenidos de proteínas y fibra, y ser alimentos con bajos porcentajes de grasa.
En la operación conjunta, WFP proporcionó raciones de alimentos listos para comer para satisfacer las necesidades alimentarias inmediatas durante seis días para la población que vive en el este de Mosul.

Impacto social y económico" forma parte de una serie de informes sobre malnutrición en América Latina y el Caribe que están siendo preparados por el Programa Mundial de Alimentos (WFP, por sus siglas en inglés) y la Comisión Económica para América Latina y el Caribe (CEPAL).
