Tras el terremoto de magnitud 6,3 que sacudió la provincia de Herat, en el oeste de Afganistán, el sábado 7 de octubre, el Programa Mundial de Alimentos (WFP) está sobre el terreno prestando ayuda a los supervivientes.
A pesar de que el acceso a información fiable sobre las condiciones dentro de la zona oeste de Mosul es limitado, el equipo de control de WFP y sus socios han podido hablar con algunas familias dentro de la ciudad para realizar una evaluación del acceso y de la disponibilidad de alimentos.

ROMA – El número de personas que experimentan inseguridad alimentaria aguda y requieren asistencia alimentaria, nutricional y de subsistencia urgente aumentó por cuarto año consecutivo en 2022, con más de 250 millones enfrentando hambre aguda y personas en siete países al borde de la inanición, según a lo último Informe mundial sobre las crisis alimentarias (disponible en inglés).
