En medio del aumento de las necesidades de financiación y los desplazamientos, el Programa Mundial de Alimentos (WFP) se propone llegar a millones de personas afectadas por el conflicto con comidas preparadas, apoyo nutricional y dinero en efectivo.
El Programa Mundial de Alimentos y otros trabajadores humanitarios temen una tormenta perfecta, ya que la afluencia de refugiados por la violencia en Sudán se ve agravada por las próximas lluvias, la temporada de carestía y la escasez de fondos.
Cocineras y maestras celebran la renovación de la cocina de su escuela y el hecho que las niñas y los niños puedan comer comidas calientes y saludables. Al igual que esta escuela, el Programa Mundial de Alimentos rehabilita las cocinas escolares en ocho estados del país.
Beinilet Salas utiliza los alimentos del Programa de Comidas Escolares del WFP para preparar platillos como el atol y el arroz con leche, este último el preferido de su hija de tres años.
