Los equipos del Programa Mundial de Alimentos (WFP, por sus siglas en inglés) en el Caribe están evaluando los impactos del huracán Beryl que azotó Jamaica el miércoles por la tarde como un peligroso huracán de categoría 4.
Mi principal preocupación son los niños, mujeres y hombres inocentes de Yemen, e insto a todas las partes a que pongan fin al conflicto y apoyen los esfuerzos por consolidar la paz. Sólo el cese inmediato de las hostilidades facilitará a la comunidad humanitaria el acceso continuado que necesita para proporcionar los alimentos y otra asistencia vital necesaria para salvar vidas yemeníes.

Un grupo de niños y niñas nos miran fijamente, con curiosidad. Ya se han acostumbrado a la presencia del personal del Programa Mundial de Alimentos (WFP) y sus vehículos blancos todo terreno que entran y salen del asentamiento en que viven a las afueras de Kabul.
Solo que esta misión no es para entregar alimentos ni para registrar a nadie.
