Bruselas – Un informe presentado hoy conjuntamente por la Unión Europea, la Organización de las Naciones Unidas para la Alimentación y la Agricultura (FAO) y el Programa Mundial de Alimentos de las Naciones Unidas (WFP), concluye que alrededor de 113 millones de personas en 53 países experimentaron inseguridad alimentaria aguda en 2018, en comparación con 124 millones en 2017.

La fragilidad sigue representando un importante obstáculo para la erradicación del hambre y la pobreza. Además, los fenómenos meteorológicos extremos, cuya frecuencia y gravedad van en aumento, intensifican estas crisis mundiales que a menudo se prolongan.
