LA PAZ.-El PMA pondrá en marcha una operación de emergencia de respuesta inmediata para evitar que unas 10 mil familias afectadas por las inundaciones en Bolivia pasen hambre. Esta operación tendrá un valor aproximado de 500 mil dólares americanos y prevé la entrega de unas 617 toneladas métricas de alimentos a las familias rurales afectadas.
El conversatorio abordará temas relacionados con los desafíos climáticos y de suelos, y sus efectos en la seguridad alimentaria y nutricional y contará con la participación de Tatyana Orozco, Directora del DPS, Deborah Hines, Representante del PMA en Colombia y expertos en la materia.
Ella y su familia vivían una vida tranquila, sin embargo, esta se vio truncada a causa del acoso que sufrió su hija por parte de un miembro de un grupo armado.
Al evento, que se llevó a cabo del 20 al 24 de mayo y que fue organizado por el Centro de Excelencia contra el Hambre del Programa Mundial de Alimentos y el Foro Global de Nutrición Infantil, en co patrocinio con el Gobierno del Brasil, asistieron los representantes de 38 países y más de 20 ministros de los sectores de Educación, Agricultura y Salud.
