En el marco del evento de lanzamiento, el Director de País Adjunto del PMA, Riaz Lodhi, se refirió a la importancia de invertir en la seguridad alimentaria y nutricional de los niños y niñas.
NUEVA YORK –Gracias al apoyo del gobierno español, el PMA establecerá un centro humanitario en Las Palmas, Islas Canarias, desde cuya posición estratégica apoyará las operaciones de emergencia en África Occidental y otros lugares críticos.
Para este año la merienda escolar está llegando a más de un millón de niños y niñas en Honduras
TEGUCIGALPA. El día 8 de noviembre de 2006 deberá figurar en el calendario como una fecha histórica para los hondureños, ya que ese día el Congreso Nacional legisló en forma contundente a favor de la educación y nutrición con la creación de la Ley de La Merienda Escolar.

(12 de febrero de 2008) -El Programa Mundial de Alimentos de las Naciones Unidas pone a circular hoy el Atlas del Hambre y la Desnutrición en la República Dominicana, un estudio que arroja datos sobre la incidencia de desnutrición infantil crónica desagregados por provincias y por municipios.
El primer grupo de familias vulnerables recibieron tarjetas de débito con su primera transferencia de efectivo en diciembre de 2016. Las tarjetas se cargan cada mes con 100 liras turcas (unos 28 euros) por cada miembro de la familia.

En un contexto global que ha sido descrito como la peor crisis humanitaria desde la Segunda Guerra Mundial, en 2016 (el último dato disponible) había 815 millones de personas subnutridas en el mundo, un aumento desde los 777 millones de 2015.
