Si las personas en el estado de Nueva York tuvieran que pagar el mismo porcentaje de su ingreso diario promedio por un plato de comida que alguien paga en Haití (35%), la comida les costaría casi US$400.
Un año después de la COVID-19 en Haití, los precios de los alimentos han seguido fluctuando mientras que los ingresos han disminuido constantemente.
“Queríamos sentirnos importantes, poder realizarnos como mujeres y no limitarnos por la falta de recursos”, comenta María Eulalia de 44 años, una de las fundadoras de la Asociación de Desarrollo Social Comunitario “La Elvira”.
Esta devastadora tormenta, que trajo fuertes vientos, lluvias torrenciales y graves oleajes, dejó a miles de personas sin hogar, derribó árboles y postes del tendido eléctrico, bloqueó las carreteras con escombros e interrumpió el suministro de agua en varias islas del Caribe.
SAN JOSÉ DE GUAVIARE – Para lograr este objetivo, se suscribieron dos convenios de cooperación técnica y financiera. El primero de ellos brindará atención a más de 3,500 niños en aproximadamente 90 instituciones educativas de las zonas urbanas y rural San José de Guaviare.
Las películas participantes en la sección Culinary Zinema del Festival irán precedidas de un vídeo corto de WFP animando a involucrarse para alcanzar la seguridad alimentaria para todos.
