Cancún, México - Oxfam Internacional y el Programa Mundial de Alimentos de las Naciones Unidas (PMA) anunciaron hoy que buscan que inversores públicos y privados contribuyan con 28 millones de dólares para apoyar una iniciativa innovadora que permita a las comunidades rurales pobres proteger sus cultivos y medios de subsistencia de los efectos del cambio climático durante los próximos cinco años.

Este año el número de personas con hambre en el mundo se redujo a 925 millones. Es una disminución significativa cuando la comparamos con las más de mil millones de personas reportadas en el 2009. No obstante, la nueva cifra sigue siendo inaceptablemente alta - equivale a aproximadamente una de cada siete personas. Si queremos seguir progresando, el hambre debe de mantenerse en la agenda política.
Empezamos a notar una revolución global en nutrición que está unida por una meta común: que cada niño reciba la nutrición adecuada para desarrollar su máximo potencial y viva de una forma sana y saludable.
