El estudio “El costo de la doble carga de la malnutrición: impacto social y económico en Honduras” fue presentado por el Programa Mundial de Alimentos de las Naciones Unidas (WFP, por sus siglas en inglés) y la Comisión Económica para América Latina y el Caribe (CEPAL) con el Gobierno de Honduras, a través de la Secretaría de Salud y la Secretaría de Coordinación General de Gobierno/Unidad Técnica
Actualmente los funcionarios de la Dirección Agraria del Minagri recaban los precios de tubérculos, frutas, verduras, cereales, y otros por medio de una encuesta en papel. Las labores se desarrollan en 27 mercados del país.
«Estos tres años de crisis han golpeado duramente a la población de República Centroafricana. Las familias se han visto a menudo obligadas a vender sus posesiones, sacar a sus hijos de la escuela, e incluso han tenido que recurrir a la mendicidad, han llegado a su límite.
Alrededor de 368 millones de niños (en promedio 1 de cada 5 niños) reciben una comida en la escuela todos los días en 169 países desarrollados y en vías de desarrollo.
La delegación estuvo integrada por el Embajador de la UE en Nicaragua, Pelayo Castro Zuzuárregi, así como por el jefe de la unidad de los programas de cooperación de la UE para América Central, México y el Caribe, Felice Zaccheo, y la Oficial de Cooperación para Nicaragua, Ilona Amaroczy.
