PUERTO PRÍNCIPE – Las jefas de UNICEF y del Programa Mundial de Alimentos (WFP, por sus siglas en inglés) de las Naciones Unidas finalizaron hoy sus misiones a Haití y pidieron mucho más apoyo para los niños y las familias altamente vulnerables que enfrentan una violencia desenfrenada, desastres mortales y un resurgimiento del cólera.

La decisión de interrumpir las entregas en el norte de la Franja de Gaza no se ha tomado a la ligera, ya que sabemos que significa que la situación allí se deteriorará aún más y que más personas corren el riesgo de morir de hambre.
Un reciente análisis llevado a cabo por el Fondo de las Naciones Unidas para la Infancia (UNICEF), el Programa Mundial de Alimentos de las Naciones Unidas (PMA) y la Organización Mundial de la Salud (OMS) pone de relieve que las hostilidades en curso están empeorando los factores que contribuyen a la desnutrición infantil.
Esta contribución marca un hito histórico, ya que es una de las primeras veces que Mongolia dona fondos a WFP, reafirmando así su solidaridad internacional y su compromiso con el Hambre Cero.
