2 de junio de 2009) –El costo generado por la desnutrición global infantil en Bolivia fue de aproximadamente US$ 552 millones en 2005, equivalentes al 5,8% del Producto Interno Bruto (PIB) y al 31,8% del gasto social total del país para ese año, señala el estudio "El costo del hambre en Bolivia: impacto social y económico de la desnutrición infantil".
"Esto marca un importante avance humanitario en Siria, pero hay que recordar que unos esporádicos convoyes sólo pueden proporcionar un alivio temporal a las personas que padecen inseguridad alimentaria severa", dijo Jakob Kern, Representante del PMA en Siria. "La gente tiene que comer todos los días.
