GUATEMALA – Desde el pasado martes, 29 de junio, el Programa Mundial de Alimentos de las Naciones Unidas (PMA) en Guatemala se encuentra asistiendo a las familias que han sido afectadas por el paso del huracán Alex por el país.
“Perdimos el 100 por ciento de la papaya, que es nuestra principal fuente de ingresos,” comenta la productora Maritza Blandón cuando recuerda al huracán Lisa. En noviembre de 2022, el huracán de la categoría 1 arrasó los invernaderos en la provincia de Cayo, Belice, donde ella y su esposo Ever tenían sus cultivos, como tomates y piñas.
