Un reciente análisis llevado a cabo por el Fondo de las Naciones Unidas para la Infancia (UNICEF), el Programa Mundial de Alimentos de las Naciones Unidas (PMA) y la Organización Mundial de la Salud (OMS) pone de relieve que las hostilidades en curso están empeorando los factores que contribuyen a la desnutrición infantil.
La edición del año en curso de El estado de la seguridad alimentaria y la nutrición en el mundo es la primera evaluación mundial en su género realizada en tiempos de pandemia.
La edición 2023 del Panorama Regional de la Seguridad Alimentaria y la Nutrición presenta una actualización de los datos y tendencias de la seguridad alimentaria y la nutrición en los últimos años.
Al evento, que se llevó a cabo del 20 al 24 de mayo y que fue organizado por el Centro de Excelencia contra el Hambre del Programa Mundial de Alimentos y el Foro Global de Nutrición Infantil, en co patrocinio con el Gobierno del Brasil, asistieron los representantes de 38 países y más de 20 ministros de los sectores de Educación, Agricultura y Salud.
